I don't know what I want to do next, is this for me?
We get asked this a lot... and yes, the Academy was created for teachers and leaders just like you. We'll help you explore your career values, skills and experiences and support you to explore different roles outside of the classroom. We do this not only through our training videos and resources, but also through our live group Zoom calls where we share jobs specs, CVs and LinkedIn profiles to discuss - we even have "Career Ideas" calls dedicated to navigating job sites!
How long does the programme last?
The Academy is changing.... from August 2024 you can access Academy support for as long as you need - be that a term or a full year. We're changing to a monthly membership to meet demand and build capacity within the team. You pay for the Academy on a monthly rolling basis and can cancel anytime. We would suggest you mentally commit to three to six months to get the benefit from the community and trainings but if you get a job before then, amazing!
What if I can't make a session?
Life happens and most of us are juggling a lot. We have a comprehensive calendar with weekly live calls - you simply book onto the sessions you want to attend. The majority of sessions are recorded so you can always watch them on replay in our private course library area.
Do I have to have left teaching to take part?
NOT AT ALL! In fact, this membership is built for getting you ready to leave with confidence and control. You'll also find the weekly support helps you manage the stress of the classroom as you plan your exit. I recommend one to two terms to plan your exit if possible. It can be done quicker if needed!
Will I have time to complete the materials?
The one thing we all want more of is time... Firstly, this is not a course you can fall behind with - it's for you to do in your own time. Secondly, the videos within the course areas are around 10-20 mins long, each with accompanying resources. Some take longer than others (for example writing a personal statement will take longer than an email) but by following this success path, you'll save hours and hours by knowing the most efficient ways to tackle each step of the journey.
